3,000 miles tested. One night proven.

When the temperature drops and your sleeping bag needs a boost, the Glacial Gear Merino Wool Sleeping Bag Liner delivers. Crafted from 100% New Zealand ZQ Merino wool, it regulates temperature, resists odor naturally, and moves with your body — so you sleep better, night after night, mile after mile.

Why Merino Wool?

✔ Naturally antimicrobial — stays fresher longer without treatments
✔ Temperature-regulating — warm when cold, breathable when warm
✔ Moisture-wicking — passes vapor through rather than trapping sweat
✔ Exceptional horizontal stretch — unrestricted comfort in a mummy shape
✔ Won't wet out your down — unlike synthetics that transfer moisture
✔ Lightweight and packable

Unlike synthetic liners that trap heat and odor, Merino wool breathes with your body — keeping your sleeping bag or quilt cleaner and drier over the long haul.

More Than Just a Liner

Use it as a standalone sleep system on mild nights, a summer-weight bag at camp, or a clean layer for hostel stays and travel. It even fits perfectly around a Thermarest NeoAir on hot nights when you want coverage without the heat.

Tested by the Best

Patrick French — known on trail as "Dosu Kinuta" — is no stranger to hard miles. When he isn't pushing the limits of minimalism on the Discovery Channel's Naked and Afraid, he's thru-hiking some of the longest trails in the country. Patrick tested our prototype liner during his 2022 Ice Age Trail thru-hike, where he set the unsupported Fastest Known Time (FKT) for the entire trail — then kept using it across the North Dakota and Minnesota sections of the North Country Trail. By the time he shared his thoughts, he had logged over 3,000 miles with our liner.

"Having thru-hiked 16,000 miles in the last 8 years, I've experienced quite a bit of the adversities one can expect on any backpacking trip. One thing I like about a bag liner is that when I'm dirty and sweaty, it acts as a barrier between that filth and your sleeping bag or quilt — which are typically difficult to clean and dry. What I like about this liner specifically is that it's made with high-quality Merino wool. Merino is naturally antimicrobial, meaning it helps keep it from smelling bad. The way moisture is wicked away as vapor helps keep you from sweating in your sleep and getting the down in your sleeping bag wet like a synthetic will. Given the quality and the benefits, it's worth the weight year round."
